The project aims to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their families and/or carers. This has been done by creating a range of activities and games suitable for people with dementia to enjoy with their families or carers. These activities consider an individuals capacity and interests with the aim to challenge and stimulate. These will be trialled in various settings, and a sustainable and appropriate framework for providing these activities and games across WA will be developed. The target group is a cross-section of people with dementia in WA, but we will particularly seek to include people with dementia related to disabling conditions such as Down Syndrome, Parkinson’s Disease and Huntington’s Disease.

Project sustainability is considered through provision of training to residential staff, community facilities and family/carers.
